RIBEYE on the Gas Grill
This AMAZING RIBEYE was actually grilled at the exact same time as my PELLET GRILLED RIBEYE.
What is amazing about this is that they were almost the exact same size and the this Ribeye ended up on the grill about 2 minutes longer than the Pellet Grill Ribeye. I was honestly surprised and impressed all at the same time. So the recipe notes will be exact because well this was a trial and I wanted to see the difference……there really wasn’t any other than the smoked Ribeye had a smoked flavor….I preferred the smoked one for that reason, the smoke flavor
ENJOY!!

Grill: Weber GENESIS SPX-435
Fresh not frozen…My Favorite
Lightly Trimmed
Don’t Laugh…lol… Grill Mates Flake Salt Seasoning. I love it!
My Favorite way to Gas GRILL a RIBEYE
Grill Temp: 225 Degrees
I place the RIBEYE on the top rack, indirect if possible.
Pull the ribeye at 120 Degrees
Crank that gas grill as high as it can go while you let the ribeye rest in wrapped up Tinfoil. I do put 2 pats of butter on the steak before wrapping it tightly.
After the steak has rested for 10-15 minutes AND your pellet grill is smoking hot throw the ribeye back on to the grill. In this instance 550 Degrees.
Flip the ribeye after 1.5 minutes
Pull the ribeye after the 2nd side has 1.5 minutes.
Cut and Serve!
Notes:
It is IMPORTANT to note, everyone likes their Steak cooked to a certain temp so you have 2 options here. Option 1 is to cook the steak to 125, 130, 135 or even 140 if you like it well done(No judging here) then follow the steps in the recipe above. Option 2 is to still pull the steak at 120 Degrees but after resting you can cook in on high at 550 Degrees for 2 minutes, 3 minutes or 4 minutes per side. What do I like? Depending on how thick the steak is I like to cook it to 120 Degrees and rest it then adjust the sear time afterwards, usually 1.5 minutes to 3 minutes per side and longer for guest who like it cooked a little more. I highly recommend you try it both ways to find out what YOU like.
I LOVE grilling at 225 Degrees. IF you haven’t tried it with a ribeye then please give it try! Depending on how thick your steak is expect 1 hour for a super thick RIBEYE
Try indirect if possible but with so many different grills out there you “may” need to experiement a little here but you want to cook it a little slower for a reverse sear.
